Hi! If you're new here, you might want to register for free email updates. Just use the form at the top of the sidebar. Thanks for visiting The Payroll Blog!
HMRC gives out information periodically about email scams that are reported by employers and individual taxpayers. Recent emails have been offering tax rebates. HMRC does not notify taxpayers of tax rebates via email or invite them to complete an online form to receive a rebate.
The email addresses used to distribute the tax rebate emails include:
- TaxRefund@hmrc.gov.uk
- service@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
- claims@hmrc.direct.gov.uk
- notice@hmrc.gov.uk
- hmrc@hmrc.gov.uk
- admin@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
- info@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
- no-reply@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
HMRC does not send out emails using these email addresses.
Suspected fraudulent emails may be forwarded to phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk for investigation.
